Who I Work With
Women
I primarily work with women of color from all backgrounds, focusing on addressing the following key aspects of women's issues:
Reproductive Health:
Pregnancy, postpartum depression, perimenopause, menopause, fertility struggles.
Mental Health:
Anxiety, depression, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder.
Trauma & Abuse: Domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault.
Relationships: Romantic relationships, family dynamics, friendships, workplace interactions.
Career & Identity: Career advancement, career aspirations, work-life balance, personal goals, familial roles and responsibilities, personal fulfillment.
Intersectional Challenges: Economic inequality, healthcare disparities, educational and employment opportunities, representation and voice, violence and safety, legal and policy protections.
Self-Esteem, Empowerment & Advocacy: Self-confidence, sense of identity, assertiveness skills, boundary setting.
The women I work with are dedicated to and highly value the therapeutic journey. They are perceptive, actively involved, self-aware, and committed to personal growth and development, inside and outside of our sessions, as we tackle various challenges and obstacles together.
Couples
I work with a diverse range of couples, including newlyweds, pre-engaged individuals, and long-term partners of various backgrounds including same-sex couples, interracial couples, couples of color and mature couples. I welcome, embrace, and celebrate inclusivity and diversity in all relationships.
In the couples I work with, both partners willingly choose to begin couples therapy, without an ultimatum. They come to therapy with a willingness to be vulnerable and honest, recognizing that their growth comes from facing difficult truths together. These couples are prepared to work on their relationship during and outside of sessions.
The couples I work with have no expectations of me "fixing" their relationships, but understand I provide a safe space for open and honest dialogue that allows for clarity whether they choose to renew their commitment and shared vision for the future or acknowledge that their paths may no longer align and want an amicable separation.
